Need to Find a Pet Emergency Hospital?

Emergencies can be scary, stressful, and exhausting, but you and your pet will always have options for urgent care. Our hospital can accommodate emergencies during regular opening hours, but if we are closed, you need to contact a center that is available after-hours. Monon Animal Hospital in Nora is connected to several specialty and emergency hospitals in the area so that if an emergency occurs, you can find prompt treatment for your pet.

How to Recognize an Emergency

It is not always easy to tell if your pet is in urgent need of care. If your pet is having any of the problems listed below, then it’s time to take action.

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Choking/gagging
  • Pain
  • Broken bones
  • Cuts, lacerations, bite wounds
  • Eye injuries
  • Blunt force trauma
  • Unable to walk or stand
  • Disoriented
  • Vomiting and diarrhea
  • Inappetence
  • Bleeding from nose
  • Blood in stool/vomit
  • Lethargy
  • Shaking uncontrollably
  • Constipation
  • Unable to urinate
  • Pale gums
  • Allergic reaction (swelling of the face, bumps on the skin)
  • Ate something poisonous or toxic
  • Difficulty delivering puppies/kittens

I love Monon Animal Hospital and the staff so very much. Dr. Rueter and Dr. Simpson are a great combination of knowledge, cheer, and calmness. I have a "problem child" for a dog and they have been so helpful with her anxiety and allergies. I can say that my dog loves coming to the vet to get her shots so she can see Rick and Alissa.
